GREAT BIG “thank you” to enigmaticblues for all her work for Seasonal Spuffy – I love being able to participate in this fantastic LJ Spuffy community – I really enjoyed having the focus on poetry this time.
These are based on a splendid little Garcia Lorca book on some of his lectures, poetry reading and other studies – the “deep song” is of endless pain and sorrows – a good fit for the dark side of Spuffy. Hope you love them as much as I do.

Years ago, someone commented to me that Edna St. Vincent Millay would have been a good vampire. Ever since, I’ve imagined that she had a fling with Spike at some point. She certainly knew Drusilla, whom she describes in Siege:

The second book of poetry I picked up for inspiration was a collection of her works. I borrowed the first lines of a sonnet for this fic. This isn’t the sort of thing I usually write. It’s not cheerful, and there’s no happy ending.
This is set post-NFA, the AtS finale, with no references to the comic book seasons, because I haven’t read any.

Summary: Usually, Seasonal Spuffy is my chance to dust off something that’s been sitting on my hard drive waiting for a lot of perspiration to be added to the inspiration that made me start it. But with the exception of a WIP, I don’t have anything Spuffy that’s sufficiently inspired to warrant any perspiration. I tried a few things, but nothing progressed. When I came in from covering the tomato plants tonight to protect them from frost (seriously, Iowa, it’s the middle of May, WTF?) I still only had a couple of hundred words of this.
