Fic: Tekubi, Chapter 4

This will be my last post of the day. (I did tell you this was a WIP.) Thank you everyone for being so supportive and enthusiastic about my work. Special thanks to itmustbetuesday for creating this comm. It was the pressure of having a posting day to fill that finally got me back to working on this long-simmering story.

Now I’m going to kick back, answer comments if I have any coherence left, and indulge in some S2 Spuffy from my buddy in postage, the resplendent annapurna_2. All future chapters of Tekubi will be posted to my journal. Fair warning, a chapter a week is my goal. I work slowly. If you’d like to keep up with this fic but don’t want to scroll past my political or gratuitous real life posts to do so, or would rather wait until it’s finished, you can watch Tekubi in my memories.

Oh, and if anyone was curious: tekubi is Japanese for wrist, or literally, the hand’s neck.

Finally back with the rest of the story! Took a lot longer than I thought. The words just weren’t coming today. I fear this may be the part where the experiment goes sadly awry. Heh.

At the very least, I foresee some heavy-duty revising in the not-too-distant future. So please believe me when I say that any constructive criticism is most welcome.

First off, thanks so much for the comments on the drabbles I posted earlier. You guys are so lovely. I’m eager to reply, but I need to finish up my three-part fic offering before I do that. Many apologies for the delay.

Also, thanks to the extremely talented red_sunflower for the Spuffy icons she posted yesterday. This one seemed so perfect for my fic that I had to snag it! Along with a few others. Heh.

And speaking of the story, here’s the first installment. Chapter 3 is also done, but I have just a bit more to fill in for Chapter 2. I’ll be back with those later. I suspect the story may need some more polishing when all is said and done, but that will have to wait. In the meantime, hope it pleases…

Fic: Tekubi, Chapter 1

Hi! I’m caia, I’ll be your co-host here today on seasonal_spuffy, along with the talented annapurna_2.

My main offering will be the first couple chapters of a longer fic I conceived of back in the fall of 2003 based on spoilers for the AtS S5 episode “Damage”. Among the differences from canon, Spike’s hands are removed at the wrists, and he doesn’t immediately get them back. Don’t worry, though, there will be plenty of silliness and schmoop as well as angst.

Here is the end of a story that I started during the hiatus between Season 6 and 7 when I wondered what it would be like to have Buffy or Spike as a direct report and remarked to a friend that at least I didn’t have to deal with that at work. Her response was something along the lines of, “Write that,” and we tossed ideas around for a while. I’m very glad I blew the dust off this and finished it, because it was a lot of fun.
