Two words that say so much about Buffy and Spike – for both, these were the “double edged swords” –

Over at Elysian Fields – I was encouraged to try using the Haiku poetry style – It was wonderful to finally be able to create my own words to use with my images.
Banner – You Were There
It’s my posting day – had a great time working on new images – the theme was especially appealing to me because the Most Important elements of all the Buffy and Spike journey is the transformations their experiences created for them. It’s my GRAND METAPHOR for our own lives and humanity – that we can all change and make the choice to not let the darkness within us control our lives.
Hope you like them – got bit carried away – but what the heck – It’s Season Spuffy Time. These are available if anyone is interested in using them as banners for a story

Great to have another round of Seasonal Spuffy – thanks to all the mods for all your efforts on behalf of all the devoted Spuffy lovers. This is the first time in all my years of participating that I have been able to post on opening day – as Spike would say “Neat” – Original comic book art by Rebekah Isaacs
In the Corridors…
Title: In the Corridors of My Mind
Artist: comlodge
Character: Spike/Buffy
Medium: Artwork – Banner, Wallpaper, Icon
Prompt: Celebrating 10 years of seasonal_spuffy and our love affair with the angst that is Spuffy. PS – I had not finished this piece when I posted because I was running late and still managed to come after the mod’s wrap up post. The finished (are they ever) banner is included in this post now.
One Last Fiction Banner: for Closure is a Silly Word by Herself_NYC
A personal challenge – can I whip out a fiction poster in a couple of hours? If I start with a rough draft from the Casablanca project I can. I was certain that I had nothing left to give for this round but I was so inspired by herself_nyc‘s “Closure is a Silly Word” tonight that I had to respond. So few Spuffy stories (or really fandom stories in general) take Dawn’s trauma, or the relationship between the two Summers sisters, seriously. I adore the angst, the heartbreak, the love and the stubborn hopefulness. Plus, New York City and especially the Chelsea Hotel is nearly a character in it’s own right.
(And how could I not love a fic that mentions the Dojo, one of my favorite places to eat when I’ve visited the city? Dark, damp, overcrowded, noisy, dirty, cheerful, oddly comforting, long wooden tables shared with strangers, my boots soaking wet from the rain, and bowls of hot, damnably tasty noodles is what I think of when I think of the Dojo.)

Congratulations on ten years of a wonderful Spuffy Fan Event –

Thanks for adding this additional Free Day – this was another fabulous Seasonal Spuffy. Have a couple of banners – Hope you like them.
I send my Holiday Season’s Greetings to all the Spuffy Fans – even if we don’t have Peace, Good Will and Respect for All now on planet Earth – we can always keep up our HOPE that someday this seemingly “Impossible Dream” will become reality.
I’ve managed to keep my Spuffy Hopes and Love ongoing all these years –

My second entry for Free Day is a Holiday Greetings banner. Hope you have enjoyed the graphics I did this year. This banner can be used if any of our talented Spuffy writers would like to use it for a story or if they would like to write up a little Christmas Story to go with it.
Anyone who knows me from the discussion at the various forums all these years knows why Spike has become the most important of all characters in the entire Whedonverse to me – Spike is the HOPE and FAITH for the transformation of our world. He is all the darkness that each human carries inside of them, be it in on the surface or hidden that some don’t even know they are capable of letting out someday. Spike went from the Good Man who felt lost and rejected and abandoned and who gave in to the temptation to find another way to live but he chose, like so many humans, without understanding what his choice would bring into his life. He found Power and an escape, but at the price of his Good Man.
Banners and Icons for Round 19
Once again, I want to wish the members and maintainers of seasonal_spuffy a very happy 10 year anniversary! This was only the second time I’ve participated in the banner competition and I learned a lot about digitial editing and design via this project; and I picked up some skills and confidence I didn’t have beforehand. Below is a selection of my banner alts, suitable for use in a story or website project, and of course some icons to go with.
(And if you don’t like alts, or artists gabbing about “the process”, simply scroll down to the pretty icons below. Because this post might be of greater interest to other artists than the general population. Or it might not. I’m just sayin’)

This is what I call a real feast, congratulations to everyone! It’s been ten years, lord, I was not involved all these years but however I was reading in the shadows and I don’t know if you feel this way but there’s so much love in this place, present in every nook and corner. You are a beautiful part of this fandom, thanks for always being there.
As you know, English is not my first language so I beg pardon for my mistakes. I have always been inspired by many people (mostly fanfic writers) but I want to talk about someone who has inspired me all my life in the fandom – inxsomniax. I thought maybe you could take a look icons & icons – wallpaper & wallpaper + header A great artist, a designer full of talent and passion for design who one day fell in love with spuffy so hard (you know sometime when life is simple we insist on making it complicated) and I was lucky to be around to enjoy all this pain. I’m just kidding, I always thought what she meant to say was “I carry it in my heart” so say what you need to say, say something that’s going to touch somebody’s heart. I know how silly this sounds but the time passes and there is a lot of affection, you could feel this in everywhere. I wanted to know what this was all about, I wanted to build something for myself, learning and exploring design because of that. You don’t even know if you could say something about your ships in your designs and for many people It just makes no sense but for some others that is why it makes sense, It’s the only way it makes sense. That is the spirit that has inspired me, one of the most important lessons I learned about graphics. I would like to give thanks for everything.

Sorry – I got carried away with the creating for my day – I’m a total Spuffyholic – Hope you like.

With “Look Both Ways” idea – I chose to work with the “Something Blue” and magic – I used the classic Midsummer Night’s Dream 1935 production by Max Reinhardt and William Dieterle that was based on the Hollywood Bowl production of 1934. I love this film and the art design and costumes for the fairies – plus Shakespheare and Mendelssohn – what’s not to love?

I’ve been influenced by reading some of the darker stories lately plus season six has always been my favorite of all in the Buffyverse – if anyone is interested in having this for their story just let me know. Excerpt from poetry by Pable Neruda Sonnet 17 which I read in “Between the Shadow and the Soul” series by enigmaticblue. I love this poet – his work is so fitting for Buffy and Spike.
“I love you as certain dark things are to be loved,
in secret, between the shadow and the soul.” Pablo Neruda Sonnet 17

Another great big Thanks to all the participants for all the wonderful stories and beautiful artwork you have created for the exploration of this GRAND RELATIONSHIP.
My submissions are a bit of the “Look Both Ways” theme – the darkness and the light that is the Spuffy journey. Hope you enjoy my efforts – as always, I love working with Buffy and Spike.
