Fic: A New Life

Just in time for my posting day double_dutchess posted the beautiful icon that I of course had to snag right away :) Thank you for allowing it!
Many thanks to my two betas, my dear friend braxen, who encouraged me to sign up in the first place after reading the raw draft and gave me some very good advice, and my wonderful, spontaneous, reliable and most sensitive beta seapealsh who cares for you not being taken out of the story by my second-language mistakes.
After all the fantastic posts until now I’m even more proud to participate!
Contains canon typical violence and sex.

Teamwork is Magic Pt 2

This entry is part 2 of 3 in the series Teamwork is Magic

Title: Teamwork is Magic pt. 2
Author: Torrilin
Pairings: Buffy/Riley (Willow/Tara, Xander/Anya)
Rating: PG-13
Length: ~1300 words
Timeline: S4, Where The Wild Things Are, with a twist AU during the episode
Warnings: Canon typical violence and gore, Buffy and Riley romance, script format
Notes: This was supposed to be a comic, and I have chunks of the art done, so it may yet become a comic. The script grew, so we may yet get somewhere. The Spike/Buffy is mostly friendship not romance-y, given where I’m going off canon. And this is unbetad. Please tell me if you catch errors or are confused.

The People In Question

I am all about writing at the last minute. I’d hoped to finish (start?) this last night so I could post first thing, but mid-afternoon (EDT) seems to be the best I can manage. Hopefully everyone is still madly refreshing LJ to get a new seasonal_spuffy entry, because you are in luck. This is set mid The Girl In Question. And I hope the typography is properly tagged, otherwise it’s going to be a real pain in the ass to figure out. :D

Notes: This was supposed to be a comic, and I have chunks of the art done, so it may yet become a comic. But it’s my posting day, so I’m posting what I have. Fic: Butterflies (Drabble)

Round 20 started, the page is still empty, and here in Germany May Day is nearly over. So I decided to get things started with a quick drabble. It’s also my very first entry at Seasonal Spuffy, and I’m pretty nervous…
It’s not fitting the round’s theme, though, but I wrote for the kick-off GIF, that’s something, right?

Thanks to the wonderful mods who keep Seasonal Spuffy alive! I’m proud to participate this year!

English isn’t my first language, and I couldn’t find a beta on such a short notice (this wasn’t planned at all), but since I have to post until midnight in my time zone, I’ll just hope there aren’t any weirdnesses. (Don’t hesitate to tell me if there are mistakes, though. Please.)

So, here goes…

Title: Butterflies
Author: freecat15
Era: Season 4
Setting: Something Blue
Rating: G
Word Count: 100

Fic: The Soul Lies Down [11/?]

Title: The Soul Lies Down, Chapter 11
Author: The Moonmoth
Pairing(s): Buffy/Spike, (Anya/Xander, Willow/Tara)
Rating: NC-17 (this chapter: PG)
Length: ~52,100 (1,900 this chapter)
Timeline: AU S5, S6, S7 and post-series (this chapter: S6)
Warnings: character death, violence and gore
Summary: As a child, I used to dream of a man in black and white, spinning in the desert like a dervish, sword flashing in the moonlight as he danced with death. (A sequel to angearia‘s Fin Amour).
Notes: posting completely on a whim, since I hate to see one of my favourite comms empty on opening day. This is a new chapter from a longer fic, earlier parts of which can be found here: LJ | EF. Many, many thanks to rahirah and bewilde for fantabulous beta work. Quote lifted from Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan. Concrit is most welcome :)

After the Deluge – 27

This entry is part 8 of 11 in the series After the Deluge

It’s still the 1st where you are, right?

I’ve been bogged down in essay-writing and other academic stuff, but I couldn’t let this anniversary pass without something. I started my WIP, After the Deluge on this comm, more years ago than I care to admit, and here is another chapter. Two, possibly three to follow. The first 26 chapters can be found here.

Rated PG13 for mild violence in this chapter, rather stronger overall.

Fic: Displacement (3/?) PG13

Title: Displacement, Chapter Three
Author: spuffy luvr
Rating: PG13 (for now)
Setting: Post-Series crossover with “S.H.I.E.L.D”
Word Count: ~2300/~30,000
Summary: Spike’s amulet is left to languish at the bottom of the Sunnydale crater, until a S.H.I.E.L.D. team accidentally uncovers it ten years later.

Warnings:  Spoilers through mid-S2 of “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”,  as well as the Marvel Cinematic Universe.  I suspect knowledge of “S.H.I.E.L.D.” will make the story, or at least the initial chapters, far more enjoyable.  Temporary Buffy/Other, sort of.

Fic: Closure Is A Silly Word, pt 2 of 2

Angel had said that the lobby in the Chelsea Hotel was something to see. Dawn wondered, as she walked up Sixth Avenue,  passing the old department store buildings that housed TJ Maxx and Bed Bath & Beyond—so normal, nice and normal—what that was going to turn out to be. A hotel where vampires were habitués.

Fic: Closure Is A Silly Word, pt 1

I’m delighted that two things happened to make this story possible: The mods here added a posting day at the end. And a reader on A03 left a comment on another fic of mine, Not Dead, which made me realize there was sequel potential there. So, herewith, a sequel to Not Dead.

A third thing that happened to make this story possible is that rebcake did an excellent beta, which improved this hastily-written tale no end.

I recommend reading or rereading Not Dead first, but if you don’t, the basic premise is that it’s been five years since Buffy’s been missing presumed dead. Except Dawn knows she isn’t missing presumed dead. Her sister is a vampire, and she’s with Spike.

If You Need a Job Done Right, Send a Slayer 5

This entry is part 5 of 5 in the series When You Need a Job Done Right, Send a Slayer

The last two chapters – These may or may not be how they look by the time I put it up elsewhere, but they are where I am right now. There were a few places I felt like it could have ended. This is not one of them. LOL But it will do for now. I suppose I should resolve things with Angel, I hate to leave him alone, but that would require more time than I have today. Let’s just assume he makes friends with Anteres or something…

Thanks again to Abelina whose extra eyes kept me from making any plot dimples into actual holes. :) Obviously, I’ve tweaked after she saw things, so….

(Chapter Eight is what earned it the strong R rating – FYI)

Fic: A Parliament of Monsters, Chapter 13, Part 1

Hi All! I had hoped to have the entire chapter to post today, but I’ve been revising this right down to the wire, and the last few scenes are not quite ready for prime time yet. And the first half is where all the Spuffy action is anyway.

My thanks to my incredible beta readers, typographer, slaymesoftly, the_moonmoth, feliciacraft, and ApprenticeBard — there will be a couple more names on this list when the final version goes up, and I could not have done it without any of them. Any remaining infelicities of prose are entirely my own. With no further ado…

Previously in A Parliament of Monsters:

It’s been a year since Buffy and Spike closed the Hellmouth, but life hasn’t gotten any less exciting for Our Heroes as they try to take down a duo of vampire gang bosses. Kennedy arrives on a secret mission from the Watcher’s Council, just as Tara and Willow, who’s now a vampire with a soul, are having relationship problems. Riley Finn is back in town, looking for formerly-chipped demons, one of whom is now one of Spike’s minions. And the news from Los Angeles just keeps getting worse: Angel’s lost his soul again. Or has he? When Robin Wood, on his way to deliver a mysterious artifact to Buffy, turns up murdered, Spike’s the logical suspect, at least to Riley. But nothing is as it seems, and the now-missing Slayer artifact is only one piece in a larger and more dangerous puzzle than Buffy knows…
