My most grovelly apologies for the delay; my beta rabid1st insisted on improving this chapter, for which I am most grateful. I’d like to thank itmustbetuesday for permitting me to post late, and especially the lovely missmurchison for graciously allowing me to post on her day. Thanks also to fitofpique, head f*** over at wrisomifu, and everyone who commented on Chapter 1, for their encouragement.

A couple of things I forgot to mention yesterday, as I was struggling to post. Aside from the obvious, this is an AU in that AI remained AI; they didn’t join Wolfram & Hart. Also, this fic should carry a schmoop warning.

As if I haven’t had enough computer-related problems, with my broadband out for much of the week and then LJ going down, I have somehow managed to log off LJ, and I can’t remember my password. I’ve contacted LJ for a reset, but they haven’t mailed me back. As a result, I can post from Semagic, but I can’t read locked posts or comment.

Notes: Because I’m a creature of habit, this is set in the same silly ‘verse as Cubed and What’s in a Name, my previous stories. It can be read as a standalone, especially as none of the characters seem to have learned much from what happened in the other two fics. In this very AU version of S6, everyone gets along, at least until someone gets a really nifty notion. This is clocking in at around 23,000 words before the final edits. That’s much longer than I’d planned, but these things happen.

This is my last post for the day I wanted to thank itmustbetuesday  for hosting this wonderful ficathon and I am enjoying all the marvellous entries and anticipating so many more ^_^.

I am incredibly frustrated in not completing this fic for today as I have loved writing it, but sadly due to ill health over the last few weeks I was scuppered slightly and unable to complete The Chaos Factor in time for posting today – I have nearly finished chapter seven of the fic and I will be posting it on my LJ as well as popping it into my memories section – so if you are interested in following the rest of this fic and Spike and Buffy’s travels across the world chasing Ethan then keep an eye out on my LJ for updates, I will pop all chapters including future ones into my memories to make is easier to access them ^_^. I will be focusing on this fic and I will finish in one hit over the next couple of weeks.
