Hello everyone! Today’s my day to post and I bring you a long spuffy adventure tale. It’s 21 chapters and an epilogue, so I’m posting the first three now and then spreading the remainder throughout the day.

A/N: AU Adventure. Set within the Grundyverse this story stands alone, a separate endeavor for this community, and although there is humor and romance, the plot is darker than what I usually write to suit our community theme of obstacles. Our poor beloved characters- they’ve certainly got ‘em in spades.

Summary: Some time ago, I wrote a short fic called Who’s the Doctor?. It was an AU version of “As You Were” that involved some characters from the recent seasons of Doctor Who. I’m having problems categorizing the current fic, because it’s a prequel from the Doctor’s point of view and a sequel from Buffy and Spike’s. As far as BTVS is concerned, it’s during or after an AU Season 6 where Spuffy is a happy reality and all the characters get along, more or less. In the Whoverse, it takes place during Tom Baker’s reign, when he was traveling with Leela.
A few hours to go, but I have looked on the wine when it is red (not to mention drinking it), so I better get the last two chapters up while I can still manage to get at least half the links right.

Author’s Notes: This takes place quite a way in the future, in the same universe as another fic I wrote,What a Way to Make a Living (there may be a title-theme of early 80s cheese…). But to understand this fic, all you should need to know is that Buffy works in a school by day while Spike and Illyria fight crime, buddy-cop style, by night. There’s again a bit of comics influence, but really not very much. Insane levels of thanks to bogwitch for doing me a beta – it should now be pretty unrecognisable from when she first saw it. :P Yet more thanks for enigmaticblues, because I swear seasonal_spuffy brings out the best in me.
